The F80 M3, in particular, is the benchmark for modern high-performance sedans. Unfortunately, the M3 is very expensive and not feasible for many enthusiasts. Luckily, nearly all BMW 3-series are great enthusiast cars. Some might even say the 335i is a better deal than the M3 thanks to the powerful N55 engine under the hood. The N55 is a very tunable engine and getting big power from it is easy. The single-turbo 3.0L inline-six engine makes 306hp and 295lb-ft from the factory, which isn’t that much considering the size of the engine. BMW definitely held the N55 back, otherwise the 335i would step on the toes of the M3. Our Stage 2 flash changes target boost levels, air/fuel ratios, ignition timing, speed limiters, shift points, and much more. The result is 386hp and 398lb-ft: a gain of 80hp and 103lb-ft! The flash is done directly all of this through the OBDII port, no removal of the ECU needed!
