One of our customers did some tests with a PerformanceBox VBox kit on his 2012 Porsche 997 Turbo S running the VR Tuned ECU Flash.  The car had a Fabspeed exhaust with stock cats and a BMC air filter.  We all know that magazine tests are always difficult to replicate as they are in the most perfect conditions and done so many times to get the best result.  But like a dyno, what matters is the delta.

Check out this review our customer wrote and posted online:

Ok guys I went through with the Vivid Tune.. …It was pretty good overall experience.  …Dan was very professional and was available almost immediately anytime I had any concerns. He did the tune remotely while I watched on my computer. Whole process took about 20 minutes. His tune successfully reduced my 0-60 times by .3 second. Keep in mind I did not use any launch control to avoid spinning which can obscure the tune. Here are the Vbox or Pbox results on my 2012 TTS 600 mile on her.

  • Stock with Fabspeed and BCM filter – 4.0 seconds
  • After Vivid Tune – 3.7 Seconds
  • After Cat Bypass – 3.6 Seconds
  • After R888 – 3.5 seconds

Launch Control – 3.2 Seconds with major traction issues (32 PSI front and 38 PSI rear).  I wanted to lower fronts to 30 PSI and rears to around 20-24…  Run took place in West Las Vegas altitude 2800 ft. above sea level temperature around 65 degree F

I know we all read magazines and the 997 TTS have run a 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. Remember that was with launch control and probably with AC off and not with a ¾ tank full of gas. Magazine runs were probably done at much lower altitudes compare to my test runs thus more oxygen. Air density in Vegas lately has been 0.069 LB/FT3 vs. 0.076 LB/FT3 at sea level.

Another happy VR Tuned customer!
