The Audi TT RS features a 2.5L turbocharged inline 5 cylinder engine that makes 360 horsepower and 343 ft/lbs of torque. As a great platform with impecable handling, the TT RS engine is very tunable. These ECU’s can be bench flashed to change the boost, fuel, and timing, however some folks want a simple plug and play solution for warranty purposes. The VR Tuned Tuning Box Kit meets those expectations as a multi-channel tuning kit to produce almost 50 horsepower. This particular kit (VRT-121167) plugs into the boost pressure sensor, manifold pressure sensor, and the camshaft sensor (See Manual Here). The box features an adjustable dial on the back which comes set to 6 from the factory. The dial helps in the power delivery based on the octane used. All BHP quoted numbers are based off of 98octane as tested by our European manufacture. We like to verify the capabilities on our Mustang Dyno here in Arizona. However with 100F temperatures and 91 octane fuel, the numbers we show are not always as high. Of course being Quattro, we ran the car in AWD mode which tends to have a 20-25% drivetrain loss from the factory. At 3300rpm, the car cranked out over 40 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels. The horsepower stayed consistant and even smoothed the curve out. The biggest gains were at 4800 rpm and 5900 rpm.
