The Porsche 911 is one of the most recognizable and well-known sports cars in the world. All the years Porsche has spent racing has allowed them to build absolutely amazing sports cars. The average person might think a stock 997 Carrera S has more than enough horsepower from the factory, but us enthusiasts always want more. For this reason, Vivid Racing’s tuning division, VR Tuned, developed an ECU tune for the 997 Carrera S 3.8L.
The tune increases the stock 355 horsepower and 295 lb-ft up to 375 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. If you throw an aftermarket exhaust in the mix you’ll end up with 390 horsepower and 330 lb-ft. This tune is also designed to improve throttle response for both the Triptronic and 6-speed models.
One of our recent customers picked up the VR Tuned ECU Flash kit and sent us some photos demonstrating just how easy it is to install this tune. All you need is a computer running Windows and a little bit of time (10 minutes) to flash your ECU; it’s that easy!
