NOTICE – If your dealer plans on doing a firmware update, you MUST flash your vehicle back to the original stock file before you take your car in for service.  If they update the firmware on your ECU before you flash back to original, the Powergate will not work with your new firmware and require a reset for a fee.  Tool reset fee is $200 and a new file fee is required. Please note that once a file is sent, no returns or refunds will be accepted.  Any issues or troubleshooting will be handled via our support tickets.

How to Flash Your ECU with the Alientech Powergate 4

The Alientech Powergate 4 is a device that requires you to have an Android or Apple smart phone and a useable wireless connection. Each device is supplied with an OBDII cable that is necessary to connect to the vehicle so you can read/ID your ECU. This only needs to be connected during reading and writing procedure.

It is important that you have a strong 12 volts on your vehicle during the writing process. If a battery dies during flashing, this could result in the ECU being bricked. Please make sure to not unplug anything, have your phone die, or cause any disturbance while writing to the ECU.

Step 1 – When you receive the device, unbox it and scan the QR code to download the app to your phone. You can also download the app by clicking one of these icons here:

Step 3 – Because the Powergate 4 is wireless and uses the cloud, there is no file to submit to us. However to process your order, we do require information. Once the Powergate 4 finishes its read process of your vehicles firmware, please Submit a File Request Here. 

Once we receive your file upload, please allow 24-48 business hours for us to return your tune to you. When the tune is complete, we will reply back to your upload form and you can reconnect your phone to the device and launch the app. For any issues or you require support, please submit a Support Ticket Here.
